Off campus trip registration will open on Charger Connection on Tuesday August 26, at 12pm for undergraduate students only. Trip seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

    12 p.m. First Day of Class Snack Cart Happy First Day of Classes! Orientation and Transition Leaders will be walking all around campus from 12pm-3pm with a snack cart! Stop by, say, hi, ask a question or two, and grab a snack on your way to class! Campus-wide
    12 - 3 p.m. Dining VMP Tabling Speak with Meal Plan Student Ambassador(s) and staff to learn about the benefits of signing up for a meal plan and a limited-time Voluntary Meal Plan offer they currently have going on, take a quick meal plan quiz, and have a chance to get free swag items!     5 p.m. ChargerBucks Kickoff with ResLife Join the Office of Residential Life and set sail on a new academic year voyage at the annual ChargerBucks & Passport Program kickoff event. Bring your new friends, or come make new friends as you begin your voyage with the annual ChargerBucks and Passport program.     12 p.m. Mosaic Reception & Showcase The Myatt Center for Diversity & Inclusion invites all members of the campus community to the Mosaic Reception—a celebration of our rich multicultural diversity and an opportunity to foster meaningful connections. This event is designed to welcome both incoming and returning students by introducing them to campus leaders, especially those from multicultural recognized student organizations. The program aims to honor our differences, build community, and connect students with valuable campus resources and opportunities. Bixler/Gerber Quad

    1 p.m. Fraternity & Sorority Life 101 Curious about Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of New Haven? Whether you're interested in joining or just want to learn more, this session is for you! During this session, you'll learn about the four governing councils that make up our FSL community and hear directly from students currently involved as they share insights from their individual chapter experiences. This is a great opportunity to explore what membership could look like for you and to get your questions answered. Attendance is encouraged but not required to participate in recruitment.     1 p.m. Self-Care 101 Come join CAPS and DOS to engage in some self-care to start the semester!
    We will have glitter jars, stress balls, and CAPS coloring books. We will also provide resources for CAPS and resources on coping skills.

You'll help assemble care packages filled with essentials and thoughtful items that will be donated to a local nonprofit supporting those in need.     7 p.m. Rock and Roller Skating Spend your night rocking out on skates with us as we bring a retro roller rink to campus! Skates are free to all those who participate.     10 a.m. Mets Game If you’re a fan of baseball, especially the New York Mets, or just want to have a fun day out, you don’t want to miss this! Join us for a trip to CitiField to watch the New York Mets take on the Miami Marlins!

    11 a.m. Mystic Aquarium Visit one of the nation's leading aquariums and home to Beluga whales, African penguins, and Steller sea lions. After touring the Aquarium, you can enjoy shops and restaurants in Historic Old Mystic Village on your own!

    6:30 - 8 p.m. Sunset Yoga Join Dominique and ChargerREC for a yoga class to ground you after an energetic Week of Welcome, no experience necessary! Space is limited, a limited number of yoga mats will be provided, so we recommend bringing your own mat or towel. One lucky undergraduate will receive a yoga kit prize from the Welcome Week committee to continue their practice all year long!

    All participants must have a waiver on file in the ChargerREC portal before participating. Visit ChargerREC on MyCharger and follow the instructions on the Membership & Facility Access tab if you have not ever signed a waiver. Rain location Beckerman Recreation Center
