Dear Members of the University Community,
I am pleased to share that soon after the New Year we will be welcoming Kateryna Fedirko from Odesa, Ukraine, as a transfer student to continue her studies as an international business major. She will be the first of what we hope will be several other students to join us from Ukraine through a program we have established to help students whose studies have been disrupted by the Russian invasion.
Faculty and staff, in particular Dr. Bradley Woodworth, have been working closing with EducationUSA Ukraine in Kyiv, Ukraine, to create this opportunity to welcome Kateryna to our community. I am grateful we are able to assist her and her family.
The scholarship Kateryna is receiving will support her tuition, general fees, and room and board for the duration of her time as an undergraduate student. In addition, we have launched a fundraising effort to assist her and other students to follow with travel and personal expenses. Those who are interested in supporting this effort can click here to make a donation.
I am thankful for the efforts of Dr. Woodworth and several others at the University and for the support of EducationUSA Ukraine in making this opportunity possible. Kateryna will be arriving in the United States in early January. I know that as a community we will all help welcome her and assist her in getting acclimated to her new home.
With best wishes,
Steven H Kaplan, Ph.D.
Chancellor
