Schaub Makerspace

Located in the Bergami Center for Science Technology and innovation, the Schaub Makerspace offers the University of New Haven community access to cutting edge digital fabrication equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, vinyl cutters and embroidery machines. The Schaub Makerspace is designed with collaboration in mind giving students, faculty and clubs the opportunity to bring ideas to life. The whole University of New Haven community is welcome so please stop by and introduce yourself.


The Makerspace

The Schaub Makerspace is designed to create a space where students, faculty and staff can come to teach, design projects and engage in experimental learning. The makerspace contains several working spaces: a collaborative classroom, a studio workspace, a team huddle room, a wood shop, a metal shop, a laser shop, a spray booth area, and multiple storage areas.

  • Collaborative Classroom

    The classroom is fully equipped with a high-resolution projector, mobile whiteboards and raised stadium style seating for 40 students. Conveniently located directly outside the makerspace studio, this space can be reserved for classes or clubs to host events, speeches and classes.

  • Makerspace main room

    The studio workspace is designed to be a flexible workspace for classes, clubs and individuals to come use our rapid prototyping tools including our: 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, embroidery machines, soldering materials, vacuum former and crafting supplies.

  • Laser Cutting Room

    The Laser Cutting Shop contains our laser cutters and desktop computers with adobe illustrator available to design and print directly to the machines.
