I’m grateful for my rewarding experience as a program office assistant for Envision by World Strides, an opportunity that helped me to make great connections, appreciate the importance of teamwork, and immerse myself in a new work culture.

My internship experience with Envision by World Strides was such a remarkable professional experience that I will always cherish for a very long time. During my internship with the organization, I was fortunate to work as a program office assistant for the events/field program coordination department. This experience was such a redefining and transformative step as I pursue my goal of becoming a healthcare administrator.
Envision by World Strides was such a fast-paced work environment, and I was thrilled by some of their work culture and processes. However, I found the administrative process too lengthy and less productive. As a professional, I have been trained to work smart, and, thus, I was moved to help reduce the workflow process and also ensure efficiency of the administrative processes. I had to discuss with some of the line managers of administrative unit, and also the IT team, about the possibilities of enhancing our digital tracking system and also updating our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to reduce workload on the service team. This was reviewed by the team collaboratively.
The revised workflow was set in motion about three weeks ago, while there was a team discussion about the new workflow and the various roles they play to ensure efficiency of the system. Key metrics were set to measure the new workflow performance, and in the first week, there was about a 20 percent reduction in the customer enquiry about certain services, and about a 25 percent efficiency reported. At the last evaluation meeting held, the workflow process has reported 35 percent administrative efficiency, earning me a great recommendation from my line manager and the organization.
My internship experience will remain a cherished part of my professional career. It was a journey of discovery, belief, and great connections. The experience has enhanced my belief in the saying “Teamwork makes the dream work.” My internship wouldn’t have been a success without the great people I worked with at Envision by World Strides.
