The mission of the University of New Haven MPH program is to prepare public health practitioners to promote and protect overall health by providing an ethical, person-centered, educational experience.

The MPH Program reviews applications holistically, considering a wide range of factors including previous GPA, work experience, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Most students who matriculate to the MPH Program have undergraduate GPAs of 3.0 or higher.
No GRE or GMAT score is required to apply to the MPH Program.

This course will introduce public health students to standards of the profession, including oral and written communication conventions and presentation skills. The course will also introduce students to the concepts and applications of cultural humility in public health.
This course is the second in a series of professional skills courses designed for public health graduate students, and will focus on principles of leadership and management in public health sectors, including organizations and communities, and on developing the skills necessary to integrate perspectives from other professions to promote and advance population health.
This course emphasizes hands-on learning of research methodologies through designing/conducting focus groups, structured interviews, and survey instruments. This course focuses on applied skills essential for public health practitioners, such as engaging with communities, ethical research practices, and crafting effective data collection tools.
This course prepares students for the practice of public health. The course covers methods of public health needs assessment, intervention planning, and program design. Students gain practical experience through a series of exercises involving the design of a conceptual framework, development of indicators, and analysis of service data.
