About Michael

Mike is a senior manager in Ernst & Young LLP’s State & Local Tax group in Stamford, Connecticut. He has over 15 years of experience practicing in the state and local tax field, with particular focuses on state income taxes and sales & use taxes. Mike’s clients include large and mid-sized companies in a number of diverse industries, including manufacturing, retailing, services, technology and insurance. He has assisted clients on a variety of state tax matters in the areas of compliance, planning, controversy, and mergers & acquisitions. Mike has represented numerous companies before state tax agencies, successfully securing several million dollars in state tax refunds and audit reductions on behalf of his clients. Mike serves as an EY national resource with respect to Connecticut income tax and sales and use taxes.

Mike received a B.S. in Business Management from the State University of New York at Geneseo, and a J.D., with high honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, he was an editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal and clerked with the United States Attorney’s Office. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association.

Mike also actively volunteers with the New York Bar Association, providing pro bono legal services to New York residents related to unemployment insurance claims.
