About Michael

Michael Davis ’86 MBA spent 31 years at Nestle, a fortune 100 company, rising to the rank of vice president and officer. There he built a 50-person tax department and was involved in more than 40 acquisitions. He has extensive experience in tax planning, compliance, audit controversy, provision and operations, and tax data management.

At Nestle, he also led the team that built the first digital corporate tax department that continues to be praised for its ongoing industry-leading best practices regarding automation and standardization of global-level platforms (SAP, Oracle, Vertex) to promote greater efficiency and content contribution.

Michael, who is a certified leadership coach, served as an executive in residence for the University of New Haven’s Executive MBA (now Executive MBA) from 2003 to 2015, when he was named the program’s director.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Bridgeport and completed his MBA with a concentration in accounting at the University of New Haven.

In April 2018, he joined Vertex, a leading provider of tax technology solutions, as chief adviser and tax strategist.
