Engineering Your Future Academy

Check-in for this experience will be the Sunday before the start date of the program

Over the course of the academy, students will gain hands-on experiences with modern biotechnologies, chem-e-car, aerosols and human health, and soft and living biomaterials such as mammalian cells and tissue engineering. Their experience with chemical and biomedical engineering will advance as students use fluorescent microbes to paint a piece of art on 3D soft and living materials, as well as design and power a car using chemical engineering.

Students will complete various activities, including:

• Engage in hands-on experiences with techniques for engineering soft and living materials, such as mammalian cells, LB agar art, and gel batteries.
• Advance the fundamental science and technologies of chemical and biomedical engineering.
• Attend a workshop of college applications and receive advice on careers in biomedical and chemical engineering.
• Compete with other students for a chance to win a prize.

Requirements:

Students must be entering grades 9-12th for the 2024-25 academic year.
