LAS360 PATAGONIA IN LITERATURE: TRAVELERS, EXPLORERS & THE WRITING OF MYTH

You embark in this course on a literary exploration of the history, culture and mythologized creation of the region know as Patagonia, in Southern Argentina, through a critical reading of novels, historical documents and travel writing. Throughout the course, you will analyze cultural difference and explore the myths and realities of identity formation through travel narratives. LAS361 THE DIRTY WAR IN ARGENTINA:STATE VIOLENCE, CULTURAL RESISTANCE & COLLECTIVE MEMORY

This course examines the history of the Dirty War in Argentina during the military dictatorship of 1976 to 1983 and chronicles the cultural resistance and collective memory it generated.
